Master of Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering Department which is the part of the Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) has been opening Master Program in Electrical Engineering (S2) since academic year 1993/1994. The aim of this program is to improve knowledge and skills of the students in the field of Electrical Engineering. After completing their education, students are encouraged to have academic and professional skills that can be used independently in developing science and technology in education, research, and industry.

Master Program in Electrical Engineering Department can be completed in 4 semesters with maximum time limit is 4-year study period. Students must undertake 40 credits, including thesis based on the ITS curriculum. Students must undertake total 40 credits, 31 credits of compulsory and optional courses and 9 credits is thesis. This program will be started in early September, while the second semester was started in early February and ends in June.

Masters in Electrical Engineering program has 36 credits which can be completed in 4 semesters. The program has six areas of expertise that can be selected according talents and abilities of students, which are:

  • Power System Engineering
    This field has developed a specialization in Electric Power System Settings
  • Engineering Control System
    This field has developed specialization of Analysis and Design System Settings
  • Multimedia telecommunications
    This field has developed specialization of Systems and Telecommunication Networks
  • Multimedia Intelligent Network
    This field has developed specialization of Multimedia Intelligent Network
  • Electronics
    This field has developed specialization of Analysis and Design of Electronic Systems in the field of Biomedical and Industrial
  • Telematics

Undergraduate Studies

Bachelor

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering was established on 1960, and has been accredited grade A (Very Good) from National Accreditation Bureau of Higher Institution (BAN-PT). This program is aimed to educate students and train them to acquire basic competence in Electrical Technology. Bachelor Program has 144 credits which can be completed in 8 semesters. Studies are structured as follows:

  • In semester 1 to 4, students are directed to have a basic competence in the field of Electrical Technology, Communication, and Information.
  • During 5th to final semesters, students are allowed to take courses from one of the 4 areas of study (expertise) in accordance with their interests, which are:
    1. Electronic
      This field studies about electronic components, integrated circuits, application, and design of electronic equipment for industrial and biomedical.

    2. Control System Engineering
      This field focuses on system settings, optimal settings, systems, and digital robot.

Diploma

Electrical Engineering Diploma III program is developed due to the demand for providing the medium-skilled experts in the field of industry especially in process automation by using computer and in electrical service industry. Diploma III program of Electrical Engineering has three educational programs, namely:

DIII REGULAR

  • Field Controls Computer: educate expertise in the field of computer control with more significant composition in practice, with 100 credits comprise of theory and practice; 10 credits of General Basic Courses, 18 credits of Basic Skills Courses, and 72 credits of Expertise Courses.

DIII DISNAKER

  • Fields of Electronics in Industry: educate expertise in the field of electronics in industry with a composition of 40% theory and 60% practice held in 3552 hours; 288 hours for General Courses, 688-hour for Basic Skills Courses, and 2576 hours for E​expertise Courses. In this program students will have the following benefits:
    1. Get a Certificate of Completion from ITS and DISNAKER
    2. All Laboratory facilities at BLK-DISNAKER are permitted for used
    3. Have a chance of getting a scholarship to study in Japan

DIII PLN

  • Electrical Engineering: educate expertise in the field of electrical engineering for the electrical industry needs. The program is collaboration between Electrical Engineering Diploma III program with PT. PLN in order to prepare human resources who ready work in the field of electrical service industry in Indonesia, mainly in PT. PLN.

In line with the idea of ​​education which is oriented on employment, the educational goals of Electrical Engineering Diploma III program are:

  1. Prepare the professional manpower in the field of Electrical Engineering, especially in Computer Control, Electronics Industry, Electrical Engineering, and Telecommunication Engineering.
  2. Setting up the expert commensurate with KKNI level 5.
  3. Setting up the experts with analysis capabilities
