The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) is a leading faculty in ITS which was established as a combination of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTIK) and the Faculty of Electrical Technology (FTE) consisting of six departments that leading ten study programs for S1, more than 2500 students both at the S1, S2 level or S3. F-ELECTICS comes with a vision to become a referral faculty in education and research in electrical, electronics, and computing-related fields with an international reputation and contribution to humanity.

Five New F-ELECTICS Professors Inaugurated in February 2025

Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again inaugurated its top academics, including five new professors from the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS). The inauguration ceremony took place in two open Senate sessions held on February 6 and 20, 2025, at the 11th-floor Auditorium of the Research Center, ITS Sukolilo Campus. The inauguration of these five new professors reaffirms F-ELECTICS's role in advancing science and technology across various strategic fields. With their expertise, it is hoped that innovations and solutions beneficial to society and industry will emerge, while also opening broader collaboration opportunities at the national and international levels.

This inauguration marks a significant step for FT-EIC in strengthening leadership and supporting the faculty’s vision and mission to continuously innovate and grow. Several F-ELECTICS lecturers have been entrusted with strategic positions. This appointment provides them with an opportunity to contribute more extensively to decision-making and management within ITS.

From Hobby to Achievement: Azril Fathoni’s Journey in Conquering the World of Cyber Security

What started as curiosity and a love for solving challenges turned into a path of achievement for Muhammad Azril Fathoni, an Information Technology student at ITS. He turned Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions into a learning space and a platform for success. Amidst his busy life as a student and full-time infosec consultant, Azril remains active in cybersecurity competitions and has earned several national accomplishments. Most recently, Azril and his team, “Fried Fermented Soybean,” representing the Heroes Cyber Security community, won 1st place at the National Network Competition 3.0 (Netcomp) hosted by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

The Barunastra Team from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again carved out an impressive achievement by bringing home the Grand Champion title at the prestigious International Roboboat Competition (IRC) 2025. The competition, held at Nathan Benderson Park, Florida, USA, featured 30 teams from various countries and is regarded as a top-tier event for maritime technology innovators. Participating teams included those from renowned institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Michigan, Kyushu Institute of Technology, and many more. Success Story of IoT Implementation: Salt and Drinking Water Production for Gili Genting Island

Gili Genting Island, Madura, is known for its high seawater salinity, ranking second in the world after the Dead Sea in Jordan. This poses a challenge for the local community, which needs clean drinking water while also utilizing salt for fishing activities. To address this need, an innovation team from the Electrical Engineering Department at ITS developed the Gili Genting Island’s Oxygen Conservation: IoT-Driven PV-RO for Salt and Drinkable Water Production project, funded by IEEE EPICS (Engineering Project in Community Service).
