Industrial development in Indonesia is very fast-paced.
Up to the year 2019, there were around 24,500 industries registered in the Ministry of Industry’s database and the existence of more than 100 industrial estates, where each area encompasses hundreds to 2,267 hectares. With Indonesia’s current population that exceeds 250 million with a surface area nearing 1,905 million km2, it is definitely very strategic to provide the people’s needs by using abundant natural resources.

The Faculty of Industrial Technology (FTI) - ITS is a large and growing faculty. As a large faculty, FTI - ITS always strives and maintains the good quality of the implementation of the tri darma of tertiary institutions. This good quality can be achieved through good collaboration between the faculty's management and the various department's management in the FTI-ITS environment.
On November 29, 2019, the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, visited the Faculty of Industrial Engineering - ITS, and representatives of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia, that were present during the visit were the HR Manager and Administration, Jos Istiyanto, Ph.D.
The Faculty of Industrial Technology - ITS was confirmed as the overall winner of the 59th ITS Dies Natalis in 2019. FTI proudly achieved a total of 5 medals consisting of 3 golds and 2 silvers.
