ABOUT US

ITS as PTNBH has a mission in the field of research by playing an active role in the development of science and technology, especially in the fields of marine, environment and health, energy, as well as information and communication technology that is environmentally sound through quality research activities.

 

As part of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, ITS also participates through research and community service activities. In the 2020-2024 period, the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) is made into a new directorate is the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM). Which has a sub-directorate of community service oversees several study centers, one of which is the center for Appropriate Technology studies which focuses on the fields of agricultural processing technology and agricultural products, fishery, industrial and agricultural waste treatment, renewable energy, SME or home industries.

    • Biogas Production: Prototype of Appropriate Technology based on Bioenergy and Biogas Production and Purification.
    • Bioethanol Production: The prototype fermenter is used to process agricultural residues, to produce generation IV bioethanol with raw materials of cellulose, hemicellulose.
    • Biodiesel Production : Prototype of biodiesel purification technology from transesterification reaction.
    • Agricultural Product Processing: Prototype of Appropriate Technology for candlenut harvests for effective, energy-saving stripping of fibers, epidermis and shells.

    • Bioethanol Production: The prototype fermenter is used to process agricultural residues, to produce third generation bioethanol using cellulose as raw material, hemicellulose.
    • Biodiesel Production: Prototype of transesterification reactor to produce biodiesel with grain as raw material.
    • Agricultural Product Processing: Prototype of Appropriate Technology for candlenut harvests for effective, energy-saving stripping of fibers, epidermis and shells.
    • Food Processing: Modification of an effective dryer.
    • Agricultural Residue Processing: Prototype of Appropriate Technology to process yarn/catoon into car seats.
