An introduce about the Medical Techonology session by Mr. Adhi Dharma as the head of the program study
On Sunday, January 15, 2023, the Medical Technology Study Program, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology held a webinar. This webinar is one of a series of webinars organized by the Medical Technology Study Program. This opportunity is used to introduce medical technology study programs to the general public. The webinar, which is held online, carries the title “Digital Fabrication as a Medical Technology solution in Indonesia”.
The event began with the appearance of a video profile of Medical Technology and ITS, then continued with remarks delivered directly by the head of the study program of the Medical Technology Study Program, Mr. Adhi Dharma Wibawa. There were two material sessions, namely the study program profile by Mr. Adhi Dharma as the head of the study program and the Digital Fabrication material by Mr. Djoko Kuswanto, head of the Integrated Digital Design (iDIG) laboratory, ITS Industrial Product Design Department.
Mr. Adhi conveyed that one of the factors in the formation of the Medical Technology Study Program was that there would be more competent Indonesian Human Resources (HR) so that Indonesia could produce Medical Devices independently to meet the needs of the community. Apart from these main reasons, several other factors prompted ITS to finally establish the first Medical Technology Study Program in Indonesia. He said that there are already many universities abroad that also have similar study programs. In addition, various job prospects that can be taken by Medical Engineering graduates are explained.
Furthermore, the material regarding Digital Fabrication delivered by Mr. Djoko brought a lot of broad insights for the participants. He gave a basic explanation of what a medical device is, the design process, the manufacturing process, and its functionality in the medical field. Not only that, the presentation of the material is interspersed with videos such as examples of the manufacture and application of various medical devices. He said that until now, there have been many programs for people close to ITS, especially in the field of medical technology. Among the programs he has undertaken are participating in the Thousand Fake Hands Movement, making a 3D printer machine for Airlangga University Hospital, and others.
Given the close schedule for the SNBP and SNBT, this webinar is also intended to provide information regarding the admission of new students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. An explanation of this was explained directly by the head of the Medical Technology study program, Mr. Adhi Dharma. It is hoped that this webinar can become a field of information for the general public and prospective students who are interested in continuing their studies at the Medical Technology Study Program regarding the things learned in this study program and provide insight and existence from the Medical Technology study program.
Furthermore, there is another webinar from the Medical Technology Study Program which carries the topic “Nurse Technology Innovation and Information for New Student Admissions for the Medical Technology Study Program”. Don’t miss this opportunity and register yourself here!
