Following the decision of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education and Culture, number 0754/E/O/2023, the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (ELECTICS) continues to evolve and prepare to provide the best services to the community. ELECTICS organized a call to implement the Integrity Zone within the faculty and departments. On Friday, March 8, 2024, ELECTICS held an event titled “Socialisation of the ZI Implementation Program,” which took place in the Auditorium Tower 2 building.

This event was held to socialize the importance of implementing the Integrity Zone to the academic community within the faculty. The creation of this zone aims to provide optimal and transparent services in the ITS area. Therefore, the application of anti-corruption principles is crucial to enhance the understanding of ITS’s academic community about the Integrity Zone. “This commitment is instilled through socialization and the use of printed media within the ELECTICS ITS environment,” said the Dean of ELECTICS.

In the process of achieving these significant targets, a Computer Engineering lecturer explained that six areas of change are key factors in determining the Integrity Zone (ZI). These six areas are fully integrated into ITS’s strategic planning, which includes Change Management, Organizational Arrangement, and Human Resource Management System Arrangement. Additionally, these areas cover Strengthening Supervision, Strengthening Performance Accountability, and efforts to Improve the Quality of Public Services.

Irmasari, a lecturer from the Information Systems department, shared that the application and implementation of the Integrity Zone within the faculty have been in place for a long time. One example is the firm stance of lecturers in refusing any gifts from students, whether it be food or presents, at the end of thesis defences. “We conduct thesis defences from morning to evening as part of our duty to serve students, and it is the department’s responsibility, not the students’, to provide refreshments,” said Irmasari. She also noted that the implementation of the Integrity Zone is crucial for building public trust and demonstrating that, as service providers in the field of education, we must be transparent and maintain integrity.
