On Tuesday, 2 May 2023, ITS held a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day (Hardiknas). In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek), this year’s National Education Day carries the theme “Moving Together Enlivening Freedom of Learning”.
“There have been a lot of big changes that have been made by the Independent Learning Curriculum for education in Indonesia,” said ITS Chancellor Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari in his opening speech.
He continued, that through the Merdeka Learning program, students can be freer to seek knowledge through various media outside the campus. This program also provides a scholarship program as well as research funding which has succeeded in giving birth to many innovations. “It is important to balance the steps and ensure the continuity and sustainability of Merdeka Learning going forward.” he explained.

In addition, on the same day ITS launched the 63rd Anniversary Logo. Every year ITS will issue a Dies Natalis Logo along with a new wish listed on the Dies Natalis theme. This year FT-EIC and FT-SPK collaborated in forming the Anniversary logo and acted as the organizing committee for ITS 63rd Anniversary.
This logo has a shape like an incandescent lamp, representing innovation that is a solution to problems that exist in society. This innovation is capable of bringing civilization in a better direction. Then the shapes and colors used also have their own meaning. The modified box shape means that a technology must develop and is also relevant to support innovation. In addition, the diagonal line to the right means that the synergy with the entire ITS academic community is in a better direction.
Then the human figure clenching his fist depicts the spirit of November 10, ITS academic community in contributing to the country. Meanwhile, the gold color symbolizes the superior generation that was born from ITS blue, while the gradation of dark blue to light visualizes relevance to sustainable development.
On the same day, ITS held a halal bihalal event which was intended for all Education Staff and also ITS Lecturers. Located at Graha Sepuluh Nopember ITS. This event was also complemented by the arrival of the Deputy Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Board (PBNU), KH Zulfa Mustofa.
In the lecture that was delivered, he said that good brotherhood ties could be built with mutual respect between people. “Good people and lots of friends are people who humanize humans,” he said
Apart from that, through this Halal Bihalal event, he hopes that the entire ITS academic community can strengthen brotherhood and advance the name of ITS. “A great campus is a campus that has a big family who cares and is ambitious,” he concluded.
