BOARD GAME DESIGN AS AN ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MEDIA IN KINDERGARTEN

Background

Teaching lessons to early childhood is usually a particular difficulty experienced by parents. Most children get bored quickly and prefer to play compared to learning, therefore one of the best ways is to invite children to play while learning. But the method used by the teacher or parents must be in the form of a variety of methods, because repeated learning methods can affect children’s enthusiasm and interest in learning. Teaching methods that are repeated over a long period of time can make children lose their enthusiasm for learning because they lose their curiosity.

This research aims to create alternative learning media in the form of board games which focus on children’s cognitive and language in Kindergarten, especially class B while training aspects of child development so that children can learn in a more varied way. The methods used are literature studies, observation, interviews, and a customer journey map to find out the activities carried out by children up to their needs. This board game is made with a fun concept, using geometric shapes, and is also attractive.
