DESIGN OF A KINDERGARTEN MULTIFUNCTIONAL TABLE BY ADAPTING THE STILLATION CONCEPT OF THE KAWUNG BATIK PATTERN

Abstract

Kindergarten is a place to shape children’s character and creativity during their initial development. Therefore, the aim of this research is to create a multifunctional table that can not only be used for playing and studying, but can also help children learn and familiarize themselves with the richness of Indonesian culture, especially by using furniture that uses the stylization concept of Batik Motifs. Kawung. This design combines elements of functionality and aesthetics by paying special attention to creating a multifunctional table that can increase children’s visual appeal and be a fun learning tool. To provide an aesthetic touch that is rich in meaning and relevant to Indonesian culture, the concept of kawung batik motif stylization was chosen as the main design element. It is hoped that the design of this multifunctional table with the stylized concept of Kawung batik motifs can help foster children’s love and affection for Indonesia’s cultural heritage from an early age by providing a fun learning experience in a kindergarten environment.
