This study aims to develop an innovative design for a tandem pedal boat to be used as a water attraction at Telaga Sarangan. The motivation behind this design is the demand for a water ride that is safe, comfortable, and appealing to various age groups. The pedal boat design incorporates double hull technology, chosen for its superior stability, safety, and space efficiency. The double hull system provides a more stable platform compared to single hull designs, reducing the risk of capsizing or sinking, and offering extra comfort for users. The tandem pedal boat design also considers ergonomic and aesthetic aspects to enhance visual appeal and user comfort. The tandem structure allows two users to pedal simultaneously, making it a more interactive and enjoyable recreational activity. Materials used in the construction of the pedal boat are carefully selected to ensure corrosion resistance and durability, given the water conditions at Telaga Sarangan. Replacing the old duck boats with this new pedal boat is expected not only to improve user safety and comfort but also to add value to the tourism industry at Telaga Sarangan. This innovative pedal boat design is anticipated to become a new icon that attracts more visitors, supports the local economy, and strengthens Telaga Sarangan’s image as a premier tourist destination. The output of this study is a prototype of the tandem pedal boat with a double hull system, which will undergo a series of tests and evaluations to ensure optimal performance before wider implementation. Through this approach, it is hoped that the tandem pedal boat design will significantly contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and appealing water tourism experience at Telaga Sarangan, as well as promoting sustainable tourism development in the area.
