DESIGNING WOODEN TOY CAR WITH THE APPLICATION OF EDUCATIONAL, DETAILED, AND CHILD-FRIENDLY CONCEPT FEATURING ENDANGERED INDONESIAN ANIMALS

Abstract

The process of growth and development in children significantly impacts the formation of their personality and future abilities. It is essential to uphold conventional values and incorporate environmental sustainability elements in toy selection, particularly with the theme of endangered animals in Indonesia. This design focuses on the development of a wooden car toy themed around endangered animals, aiming to create a children’s game as a deep and interactive educational tool. This theme was chosen to enhance children’s knowledge of wildlife diversity and awareness of environmental conservation.

In the design process, quantitative data from the IUCN regarding 189 endangered fauna in Indonesia is integrated. The wooden toy car is finished with a semi-natural touch, and some parts are colored, creating an engaging and educational product. This toy serves as an effective teaching method to understand the crucial role of endangered animals in ecosystems and instill environmental awareness from an early age. The creative outcome is expected to be not just entertainment for children but also an effective learning tool that builds environmental consciousness early on, supporting children’s holistic growth with a balanced approach between changing times and conventional values, prioritizing crucial environmental issues.
