Cosplay is an act of dressing up as fictional characters and continues to be a trend due to the emergence of new characters from TV shows, comics, and games. Events are held weekly in Surabaya, predominantly attracting female enthusiasts aged 17-22 years, with an average attendance of 400-500 visitors and an average of 30-40 participants in cosplay and coswalk. This has become a significant concern in Surabaya, prompting the author to observe that some cosplayers carry multiple bags to conventions from home to store their cosplay gear. This observation led to the idea of designing bags to lighten and facilitate their activities, incorporating features to carry cosplayers’ essential items such as costumes, accessories, wigs, weapons, shoes, and personal belongings like phones, wallets, chargers, and keys. The author gathered data through venue observation, in-depth interviews, and shadowing to understand cosplayers’ needs from preparing at home to attending conventions. The design concept for these bags are cosplay, modular, compact, and detachable. The bag has each component starts from compartments 1 and 2 with accessory pockets and wigs to the shoes, makeup, detachable hard-style wig and the slot for the sword on the side of the bag. User testing is being done with the result stating that the user is eased by the compact feature of the product that aids them to carry cosplay items in one. However, due to the user being uncomfortable placing all of the parts on the back being quite heavy, the product optimization is needed for the next research.
