The selection programme for admission of new students to undergraduate programmes at ITS, refers to the Regulations of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Permenristekdikti) No. 2 Year 2015, concerning the Admission of New Students to a Bachelor’s Program at State Colleges, as amended by the Regulation of the Ministers of R. R. T. and higher education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 45 Year 2015. The selection program is carried out through three selection paths, namely:
National Selection Based on Achievements (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi) – SNBP
National Selection Based on Test (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes) – SNBT
Independent selection (Seleksi Kemitraan dan Mandiri) – SKM
The aptitude of new students of the ITS undergraduate program for each programme of study is received through the SNBP 20% (Twenty percent) on each course of study, through the SNBT 30% (thirty percent) in each study programme and through the self-selection 50% (Fifty percent).
The student admission process at ITS is centrally conducted through the Directorate of Education, Subdirectorate of Admissions. The Undergraduate Program Admissions Process is designed to carefully select new students for the undergraduate program (the Strata-1 education program, abbreviated S1).
Undergraduate education normally lasts four years and consists of 144 credits units. If the Bachelor’s program is an academic education program oriented toward knowledge development, the Applied Bachelor’s program is education oriented toward knowledge application with the main goal of preparing graduates to have work-ready competencies.
The admission process for the Vocational Bachelor Program in Applied Undergraduate is aimed at selecting new students for the Diploma-IV education program. This selection process is in accordance with Presidential Decree (Peraturan Presiden) No. 8 of 2012, which pertains to the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), and also aligns with Circular Letter of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 498/E/T/2011. These regulations state that graduates of the Applied Bachelor program (Diploma-IV) are considered equivalent to graduates of the S1 program.
This curriculum is highly suitable for individuals who have graduated from high school or vocational high school and have a preference for practical and applicable knowledge.
