ITS Awarded as Top BRIN Collaborator 2024

Surabaya, December 9, 2024 – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again proven its excellence in research and innovation by receiving the award as one of the Top BRIN Collaborators for 2024. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) presented the award directly during an event held on the ITS campus. The Head of BRIN and his deputies attended the event. Additionally, the event aimed to appreciate the productive collaboration between ITS and BRIN throughout the 2021–2024 period.

Remarks and BRIN Collaboration Achievements

The event began with a speech by the Rector of ITS, Prof. Bambang Pramujati, who emphasized the importance of synergy between higher education institutions and national research agencies. Following this, the Director of the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) at ITS presented the achievements of ITS in collaboration with BRIN. According to the data, ITS has produced 309 joint publications with BRIN over the past four years. This number has steadily increased each year, from just 8 publications in 2021 to 121 publications in August 2024.

Awards for Top Co-authors

The highlight of the event was the award presentation to three ITS lecturers with the highest number of joint publications with BRIN:

  • Prof. Dr. Didik Prasetyoko, S.Si., M.Sc. – Department of Chemistry (FSAD), with 26 publications.
  • Prof. Dr. Ir. Prabowo, M.Eng. – Department of Mechanical Engineering (FTIRS), with 17 publications.
  • Dr. Dendy Satrio, S.ST. – Department of Ocean Engineering (FTK), with 14 publications.

Focus of Collaboration on SDGs

The collaboration between ITS and BRIN covers strategic fields such as Engineering and Environmental Science. Furthermore, this collaboration supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including affordable clean energy, industry innovation, and infrastructure.

As one of the 24 winning institutions, ITS is committed to further strengthening its contributions to research and innovation. Additionally, ITS continues to promote the development of impactful knowledge. “This award motivates us to keep innovating and collaborating in world-class research,” said Prof. Bambang.
