Learning Materials in the Physics Department
The learning materials provided in the Physics Department are well-aligned with the course objectives, as each course is equipped with a syllabus and lesson plan (RPS). The course syllabus includes the course description, course objectives, bibliography, materials, and evaluation methods, ensuring that the content delivered always aligns with the goals of each course.
Structure and Scope of Teaching Activities
Teaching and learning activities for one semester take place over 16 weeks, including assignments, quizzes, presentations, laboratory work, mid-term evaluations, and final semester evaluations.
Academic Services
The Physics Department provides various academic services to students, including:
- Offering course assistance equipped with multimedia and online resources that are widely accessible (Courses: Crystal Diffraction, Instrumentation Physics, Intelligent Instruments, Statistical Physics, and Introduction to Materials Physics).
- Facilitating student organizations with divisions focused on providing tutoring for courses with low pass rates.
- Providing a library/reading room with a comprehensive collection of books and journals.
- Appointing academic advisors who actively provide academic guidance and services.
- Organizing guest lectures and seminars by professionals regularly every Monday.
- Encouraging students and faculty to actively participate in communication forums among professional institutions in the field of Physics and student physics forums.
- Maintaining active communication with alumni through the alumni communication forum, www.alumniits.com.
- Utilizing the Academic Management Information System managed by BAAK to support student academic services.
- Establishing a Student Consultation Team that actively provides academic guidance for student academic competitions.
Career Information and Guidance (COOP)
To provide career guidance, career information, and current industry needs to students, the Physics Department undertakes several activities, including:
- Facilitating student organizations with divisions focused on providing information on job opportunities, internships, and scholarships.
- Actively inviting alumni and/or facilitating direct communication between professionals/industries and students through guest lecture programs.
- Actively participating in communication forums among professional institutions in the field of Physics.
- Maintaining career information and guidance from alumni of the Physics Department.
- Establishing a Student Consultation Team that actively provides career information and guidance.
- Academic advisors not only provide academic guidance but also offer career direction to students until they secure a suitable career.
- The institute also has a career counseling center (SAC: Student Advisory Center) that organizes various training sessions and career fairs.
Thesis/Final Project Guidance
Thesis (or Final Project) supervision is conducted while students are working on their thesis/final project. Each student is guided by a supervising lecturer and/or a co-supervisor. Students benefit from the supervision provided by lecturers, which helps make research and the writing of research results more focused, effective, and efficient. Any difficulties encountered during the thesis/final project process are quickly identified and resolved. The research conducted by students is more targeted, aligning with the research track record of the lecturers and the research tree of the Physics Department.
