Engineers in Action (EiA) 2023

Engineers in Action (EiA) is an opportunity for engineering students to learn and apply engineering knowledge in solving real problems in society. The EiA program implementer is a group that is a collaboration of students from the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) and the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) with various different backgrounds to work together as a team. EiA is expected to bridge the development of the two countries. EiA has been carried out every year since 2017. Activities carried out include projects related to water and wastewater treatment in Lebak Rejo Surabaya, creating an earthquake warning system in Semeru Lumajang, making earthquake sensor equipment and monitoring air quality in Malang and Surabaya. This year, EiA will be held in Keputih Village, Sukolilo District, Surabaya City. The activities that will be carried out are:

1. Development of hydroponic drip irrigation for urban farming (tomatoes and chilies)
2. Mapping and development of local latrine wastewater treatment (black water).
3. Design, construction and monitoring of food waste processing using Black Soldier Fly (BSF)

The EiA event will be held from Friday 14 July 2023 to Sunday 30 July 2023.
