On 13th – 15th September 2016, four departments of ITS will get an assessment process by ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). The departments are Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering. In order to prepare for the assessment, ITS International Office held AUN Simulation for students and staffs.
The simulation was held for three days. The first simulation was opened for students on Tuesday, 7th June 2016. Each department sent ten students as their delegates to join the simulation. Dr. Maria opened the session by introducing AUN and the importance of preparing for AUN. After the opening speech, it was continued by simulation which was delivered by volunteer of ITS IO and the students. Volunteer ITS IO would ask some questions to students and then the students would answer the question based on the Self Assessment Report of their departments.
The second day was simulation for staff on Tuesday, 14th June 2016. The opening speech was delivered by Mrs Aulia. Mrs Aulia explained that AUN accreditation is so important to their department and it will give positive impacts not only for students but also for staffs of the departments.
And the last simulation was held on Tuesday, 21th June 2016. It is a special simulation because eight ITS international students were invited to share their stories with the staffs. Each international student would explain about the condition of their previous university and then each staff would ask some questions for them. For the closing session, the staff gave a merchandise to each of the international students.
Hopefully this simulation will bring more benefits for students and staffs and help them to prepare the AUN assessment.
