Two Liaison Officer roles exist, one predominantly located at IPB (Bogor) and the other at ITS (Surabaya).

The Liaison Officer will work closely together and with the Cluster Manager at Monash University in Melbourne, UI, ITS and IPB to deliver the Urban Water collaborative research program objectives across the three Indonesian Institutes. You will be involved directly in the research project for a 3 (three) year period.

Liaison Officer Roles are:

The Australia-Indonesia Centre (AIC) is a centre within Monash University that strives to lead and facilitate the development of greater understanding and growth in the Australia-Indonesia relationship through investment in people, partnerships and knowledge. The Australia-Indonesia Centre was established by the Australian Government in close liaison with the Indonesian Government to strengthen ties with Indonesia. It is charged with delivering three core objectives:

  1. Promoting greater community understanding of contemporary Indonesia and its growing importance to Australia
  2. Strengthening and deepening Australia-Indonesia ties in government, business, education, science, research and in communities
  3. Delivering solutions to shared national challenges in areas such as science, health, food, agriculture, energy and infrastructure via highly collaborative research

Networks of institutions have been set up in both nations to drive the agenda, working collaboratively with industry and government. For more information about the Centre, please visit http://australiaindonesiacentre.org/

The AIC is working to establish lead bilateral research clusters delivering shared solutions to shared challenges in Australia and Indonesia.

The aim of this Urban Water cluster is to support the leapfrogging of Indonesian and Australian cities towards more sustainable, resilient and liveable conditions through the mutual learning and rapid uptake of context-specific water practices supported by resilient communities. This collaborative research program involves researchers across Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB), Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and Monash University (MU).
