CommTECH Camp Insight 2017 has already passed the sixth day! Today's agenda was city tour. The first stop was the Herbal Village. The participants were able to taste the various local herbal products cultivated by the residents such as syrup, jam, and sweetened Bilimbi. Not only tasting the products, but the participants were also playing traditional games like egrang and bakiak. Laughter and excitements were covering up the Herbal Village.
The second stop was Sepuluh Nopember Museum in Hero's Monument. They were told the history of the Hero's Monument and the struggle of Surabaya's fighters against the colonist.
Then, the participants were having another fun time in De Mata, Surabaya Town Square. They were able to take photos in the augmented reality backgrounds.
After that, they were visiting Tempe Village and Cake Village. They come with much curiosity about what tempe is and how to make it, participants were warmly welcomed by the residents of the tempe village in Tenggilis. There, they found out the process to make tempe from raw soya bean, until served as chips. With the same curiosity and excitement, the participants were visiting Cake Village in Penjaringansari. They tasted some of the products and even practiced making cookies under the guidance of the hosts. The kids living in the Rusuna Penjaringansari were really happy to meet them.
