After the participants have been shown to various sides of Surabaya through government visit on the previous day, today they got their first activity to reflect on the results of those visitation. It is certainly important to see the big picture of the things they got during the visit. The reflection is also needed to support the main activities of CommTECH participants which is solving the problem through project implementation.
Today was also the kick off of project based learning of CommTECH Camp Highlight 2017 participants. They were introduced to the Project Assistant that will assist them in completing the project. There are several case studies from each sub course, and participants were given an opportunity to choose what case studies will be studied further along with their assistant project. Furthermore, the participants were asked to make an alternative problem solving with a technology or a real technical mechanism, so that the solution proposed for the case study can be seen realistically.
To start the project based learning, the participants from each sub course were given more material and knowledge about what they are going to handle. Those from Sustainalble Urban Water Development Sub-Course got material about water treatment by Dr. Maria Anityasari from Industrial Engineering Department.
