About Darmasiswa Scholarship
Darmasiswa is a scholarship offered to all foreigners from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Indonesian Language and culture, including Indonesian art, music, dance and craft. This program is organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) in cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Every year there are more than 860 scholarship provided. The Darmasiswa program is essentially a "non-degree" program of one year (September-August). The main purpose of Darmasiswa program is to promote and increase the interest in the language, art, and culture of Indonesia among youth of other countries. It has also been designed to provide stronger cultural links and understanding among participating countries.
About Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)
Since 2013, the government has appointed ITS as one of the host universities to organize the DARMASISWA program. Compared to the normal program, ITS provides unique experiences to engage and involve in activities with local students and community.
ITS is one of the best technological universities in Indonesia, which is located at Eastern Surabaya. It consists of 5 faculties offering courses and research in sciences and technologies. Currently ITS has more than 17,000 students. Not only does ITS provide advantages for both excellent scientific and pleasant natural environment, but also has a very friendly atmosphere and enormous community spirit.
