The fifth day of CommTECH Camp Insight 2018 was held on 28 January 2018. The participants went on a visit to Kampung Genteng where they played traditional games and had a brief explanation about Kampung Genteng. They learned about the smart living which Kampung Genteng presented and also about how Kampung Genteng manage their water treatment for the local.
The participants also explored the culinary product in Kampung Genteng which has various kinds of fruits that already processed to be juice, jam, cakes, and rujak. Those products were the result of their entrepreneurship ideas to turn many fruits like wuluh starfruit (belimbing wuluh) as the material for making homemade products.
After that, the participants went on a trip to the center of Surabaya, which is Balai Pemuda. There, the participants witnessed a few of Indonesia’s traditional rituals and dances performed there which are Reog Ponorogo and Kuda Lumping. The participants also went to the language center of Surabaya, Tourism Information Center (TIC), and also the library located in the city center, Balai Pemuda and then the participants had lunch.
After lunch, the participants went on a trip to buy souvenirs in Surabaya’s souvenir center, which is UKM MERR and they also visited Mirota to finish today’s trip. They were hunting for local souvenir to be bought and that was pretty much end their today excitement!
