The sixth day of CommTECH Camp Insight 2018 was held on the 29 January 2018. The participants started their day by going to the National Star Academy, where they witnessed junior high school students perform traditional Indonesian instruments, such as Angklung, and Gamelan. The participants also got to witness the junior high school students perform Wushu, before they were allocated to the main hall to listen to a few brief speeches from the headmaster of the National Star Academy.
The participants then separate into 3 groups, where they are taught by the National Star Academy students how to play Angklung, Gamelan, and to dance the traditional dance of Aceh which is Tari Saman. Each participant had a chance to learn all three before they had their lunch break. The visit to the National Star Academy was closed with a brief closing ceremony.
The participants then began their journey back to ITS, where they are divided back into their regular subcourse, in which Subcourse A learned about the Social Business Canvas explained by Mr. Berto from Business Management, Subcourse B learned about Green Building by Dr. Maria, Subcourse C learned about Coastal Conservation Concept explained by Dian Rahmawati, S.T., M.T. and also from Dr. Ir. Eko Budi Santoso, Lic.Rer.Reg. whom explained about Local Economic Development.
The last Subcourse, which is Subcourse D learned about basic videography and video editing explained by Mr. Bendra, Mr. Dhani, and Mr. Eka from Industrial Product Design. After a brief explanation inside the classroom, the participants of Subcourse D went on a trip to Surabaya’s beach, where they learn how to take videos and make a simple documentary.
