Dear ITS Students,
Humanitarian Affairs Asia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will host the 9th University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) 2018 at United Nations, Bangkok in Thailand from August 1nd to 7th, 2018. The theme of the Symposium is Inspiring Confidence, Inspire Change.
They are expecting approximately 1,200 emerging world leaders from the United Nations Member States to participate in this event, which focuses on developing leaders to bring about social change.
They are pleased to invite the International Office to nominate 7 to 12 Outstanding Student Leaders from prestigious university in Indonesia to attend the Symposium, or to disseminate this invitation to the greater student population.
The USLS is a week-long Leadership Conference on social development for young leaders from all over the world. The purpose is to instill a sense of social responsibility as well as cultivate the attributes of selfless giving among our emerging world leaders. Delegates will have the opportunity to expand their professional network and meet representatives from United Nations Agencies at the Symposium. Last year, 11 United Nations Agencies showcased their work during the inaugural three-day exhibition: UNDP, UNAIDS, UNFPA, UN-WOMEN, UNV, UNESCO, UN OCHA, UNHRC, UNESCAP, UNICEF and UN-Habitat.
The UNDP plays a critical role in helping countries achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The UNDP will lead multiple workshop discussions at the USLS on the following SDGs:
