To support our Research & Development program, we are now recruiting a Indonesian engineer for our International Lightning Research Center based in Jatiluhur (Java – Indonesia).
Main Responsibilities :
The Research Engineer will coordinate and follow up the research campaigns in real lightning conditions, conducted twice a year (April/May and Nov/Dec) in Jatiluhur. He/She shall be working under the management of the Project Manager based in INDELEC France office.
Research campaign preparation :
– Site maintenance (ensure all equipment and site environment are ready for next campaign)
– Checking and calibrating the scientific equipment on-site (including the triggering commands and measurement chain).
– Coordination with local authorities to ensure the proper organization of the campaigns
– Coordination with INDELEC scientific partners (ITB, LAPAN…)
– Design and install new experimental settings
– Logistic and administrative preparation of the research campaigns (hotels booking, transport…)
Research campaigns:
– Conduct the rocket triggered campaigns with French engineers
– Follow up of the safety procedures on-site
– Data collection and management
– Coordination with research partners (ITB, Lapan, PLN…)
– Prepare and lead guests visits on site
– Communication (authorities, press, scientific community …) on Jatiluhur research site
Research campaign follow-up :
– Closing the site in-between two research campaigns
– Support data mining and interpretation
– Prepare scientific communications/articles
– Develop new scientific partnerships
– Campaign financial follow up.
Other Responsiblities :
– Conduct technical seminars in Indonesia for Consultants/Engineers
– Attend Lightning Standard committee meetings
– Technical training of PT Kuarta Putra Pratama Sales Managers
– Competitors benchmarking
Position based in Jakarta Utara (Kelapa Gading) in PT Kuarta Putra Pratama (http://kuartaputra.com/) office (sole representative of INDELEC in Indonesia)
Profile
Master Engineering background, ideally High Voltage specialty:
– Advanced skills of physics, as well as electricity and electronics,
– Measurement instrumentation experience,
– Experimental background on electrical, physics or electronic research projects,
– Mechanical skills
You have already a first experience in a Research & Development project.
You are fluent in English
Autonomous, dedicated, well-organized and meticulous, you entertain a good team spirit and close relationships with your colleagues. Technically well-skilled, you are able to analyze technical data and propose new research projects to the team. Action-oriented, you are able to involve yourself into the site management and maintenance.
You will travel regularly to the site (50% of your working time).
