Dear ITS Students,
The International Summer Programme in Architecture: Cities in Asia (Studio Shanghai-Tokyo) is a three-week credit-bearing course organized by the HKU Department of Architecture. Founded in 2010, it is an annual design and research studio that travels to multiple cities in Asia. Taught by a diverse group of faculty members from HKU and speakers from internationally renowned universities and independent research groups, the course offers participants an unrivaled learning experience within Asia’s most dynamic contexts.
This credit-bearing HKU course is to focus on urgent architectural and urban issues confronting Asian cities today. It is an immersive course designed to expose students to daily learning activities including lectures, seminars, studio crits, field work, firm visits, and design reviews. The nature of work ranges from the critical reading of texts, individual assignments, to design and research collaborations. Students will get to interact with professors, researchers, critical practices, think tanks and various local stakeholders in the making of Shanghai and Tokyo. This program welcomes all university students and recent graduates with an interest in the Asian city.
The deadline for enrolment is extended until 20 May 2018.
