Peace Summit of Emerging Leaders at the United Nations Conference Centre will be held this November, in Bangkok. The final deadline for applications is November 16 2018.
Details of the Peace Summit
The event will be expecting around 500 students leaders from all over the world. Delegates will be participating in talks by inspiring speakers who have committed to a lifetime of advocating for peace and will also have the opportunity to engage with speakers and other delegates around the world in networking sessions.
They will have new speakers – Derek Schwartz, a US Marine who fought in the Afghanistan War and Kya Kim, Director of the Peace Mask Project based in Japan and Korea and a panellist from the United Nations Population Fund.
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will be hosting a panel discussion focused on Youth, Peace and Security. The panel discussion aims to empower and engage delegates to play an active role in laying the foundation for sustainable peace. Delegates will learn more about the United Nations’ initiative “Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security (YPS)”, and how they can play an important and positive role in the promotion of international peace and security.
Delegates will walk away from the panel discussion armed with increased knowledge and understanding of the UN-YPS. They are strongly encouraged to take on the mantle of the Humanitarian Affairs Peace Ambassador and implement and localize the YPS agenda.
