Student Exchange Program at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia Spring Semester 2023

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia, would like to inform you that the registration for student exchange application for First Trimester  2023  (Intake January – May 2023) is already opened.  The tuition fee for this program is waived. However the accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, dorms  and living expenses in Malaysia including Roundtrip Flight Ticket, visa fees & Insurance. Students also need to check the entry regulations from Malaysia

Applicants on an academic exchange may attend classes with or without seeking credit transfers for subjects taken at UTAR. Applicants need to fulfill all attendance and programme requirements at UTAR while ensuring that the requirements of the home institution are not breached during the exchange. Applicants may join any international activities or programmes offered at UTAR: Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes

Fees & expenses 
The fees that applicants are responsible while on the exchange programme at UTAR are:
  • round-way airfares
  • local transport
  • food and meals
  • accommodation
  • visa application
  • insurance
  • books and stationery
  • other living expenses
Applications are required to pay a caution fee for utilising UTAR library service which is refundable upon completion of the exchange programme provided no book damage charges or book loans are outstanding.
Upon approval and acceptance, a student bill and offer letter will be sent to the international office of Host University. Student bill must be paid prior to commencement of the programme.
For International applicants are compulsory to pay the EMGS visa application fees to UTAR prior to commencement to facilitate visa application.

This program open for ITS students with criteria below:

– Diploma & S1 batch 2020, 2021 (2019: only if they are able to finish their undergraduate thesis on time)

– S2 who already completed minimum 1 semester

– Have a good english (oral & written)

Here are the required documents that you need to prepare :

  1. A completed inbound application form with a passport size photo
  2.  A letter of recommendation from Head of Department / Dean from Home Institution stating purpose and duration of study at UTAR
  3. A copy of passport size photo with size 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm (white background) – JPEG format
  4. Letter of Enrollment
  5. A copy of passport for all pages including blank pages (The passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the expected date of entry)
  6. Health Declaration form
  7. Learning Agreement (Please leave it blank at all of Part B section. Please also fill the learning agreement from ITS in this link http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange)
  8. An Official Academic Transcript in English version with minimum GPA 3,00
  9. A Valid Certificate of English Proficiency Test (You can use TOEFL/EFL UPT Bahasa with minimum Score is 500, or IBT/IELTS who equal with TOEFL 500).  screenshoot of your EFL score from UPT Bahasa Website or TOEFL Prediction are not acceptable
  10. Scanned Passport with validity minimum one year prior to the starting date of the program
  11. Statement Letter (please download from here http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange)
  12. Certificate of GCW Non Degree (minimum C), GCW IUP Basic, GCW IUP Advanced, or Result Test GCW Non Degree min 80 (S2 Applicants can replace it with R2SEP certificate)

We will not process the incomplete documents or late submission.ITS Students must consult with your parents for the financial aspects and please kindly provide the statement letter from your parents (in Bahasa) that your parents are support you (all financial & mental) to join this program. You need to bring it during interview
