A Semester Exchange at Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT) South Korea Fall 2023

Kumoh National Institute of Technology (KIT)  would like to inform you that the registration for semester exchange application for Fall semester 2023 (Intake September 1, 2023 – December 21, 2023) is open.  The tuition fee for this program is waived. However the accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, dorms, independent quarantine, visa fees and living expenses in Korea including Roundtrip Flight Ticket & Insurance.

This program is open for ITS students Bachelor level (D4/S1) batch  2020, 2021. ITS Students can enroll in 3-6 academic courses(9-15 credits), plus 3 credits of Korean language class. Please note that ITS Students must take 20 credit if possible. Exchange students will be also offered the chance to participate in various extracurricular activities such as industrial tours and cultural experiences. 2) Dept of Electronics and IT Convergence, School of Electronic Eng
3) School of Industrial Engineering
4) Business Administration
• Student whose major is not one of above department also can apply for KIT exchange program. However, they might not be able to take major courses for the credit transfer, only selective courses will be available.

Visa requirements
Students need to obtain the D-2 Visa with the admission and the invitation letter which will be issued by KIT.
Insurance requirements
International students staying in Korea are subject to a mandatory subscription to National health insurance from March, 2021. Monthly contributions for international students would be around 75,000KRW

Health Check-up (TB test result)
All students are required to submit one’s TB test result when check-in KIT dormitory.

Orientation
All international students are required to attend the orientation. During the orientation, important information such as academic schedule, alien registration, health insurance and tips for living in Korea will be introduced for students to prepare the stay in Korea.

Meals and Food
Students can buy various types of meals on and off-campus. There is no kitchen available in the on-campus dormitory. Normal meal prices range from 6,000 KRW to 10,000 KRW (approx. US$ 5~10) per meal.

Opening a bank account
If students would like to open a bank account in Korea, they will need to bring an Alien Registration Card and a passport to the bank.

Here are the required documents that you need to prepare:

  3. Latest academic transcipt in english version
  4. Scanned of ID Students
  5. Certificate of Enrollment in English
  6. Scanned Passport with validity minimum one year from January 2023
  7. English Proficiency Test Score. TOEFL/EFL (min 477) or you can use IELTS/IBT. You can use TOEFL Prediction. However, screenshoot from web UPT Bahasa is not acceptable.
  8. Statement Letter & Learning Agreement. You may give the approval communication from your Head of Dept for replacement of statement letter. Please download the file at http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange  
  9. Valid Korean Proficiency Test Score (if any)
  10. Certificate of GCW Non Degree (minimum C) or Result Test GCW Non Degree min 80 (please kindly note that this documents is required for this program) 

The incomplete application will not proceed by Mobility TeamITS Students must consult with your parents for the financial aspects and please kindly provide the statement letter from your parents (in Bahasa) that your parents are support you (all financial & mental) to join this program. You need to submit it during interview process

For ITS Students who interested to join this program please kindly submit your application through this form https://its.id/studyabroadITS . All of your documents must be in PDF and collected in 1 (one) .zip/.rar file. If you have finished and submitted your Study Abroad Application form, YOU HAVE TO SEND email to studyabroad@its.ac.id confirming that you have filled out the Study Abroad Application Form and submit it. Please use this subject: “Confirmation Study Abroad Application_KIT_NAME_NRP”. The submission deadline extended until 17 April 2023 ( 23.59 WIB). The Interview Session will be held on 19 April 2023.
