TEEP Scholarship: Lab Internship at NCHU: Process Systems Engineering of Chemical Industries, Taiwan 2023

Chemical Engineering Department, National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan would like to inform you that they are currently opening registration of the Internship under TEEP Scholarship scheme. In this program, students will have a chance to have experience another culture. The tuition fee for this program is waived and they will get scholarship for living allowance during their stay in NCHU, airfare tickets will be reimbursed by the end of the internship period (students need to submit internship report) . However the accepted students are responsible to prepare expenses for their  learning materials, dorm and roundtrip flight ticket & travel insurance.  Students need to check the entry regulations from Taiwan Government.

About TEEP:

in 2015, Taiwan’s Ministry of Education launched the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP) to encourage more international students to participate in short-term professional internship projects organized by Taiwanese universities and colleges. TEEP also allows international students to gain an in-depth educational experience in Taiwan, while also preparing themselves for the Asian job market.

An increasing number of outstanding universities and colleges in Taiwan now offer TEEP@AsiaPlus – short-term professional and research internship programs for 500+ per year outstanding international youths to experience Taiwan’s quality higher education and make personal connections in the Asian job market.

TEEP programs are also available in emerging fields such as Information Communication Technology (ICT), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain Technology, Semiconductors, 5G Wireless Communications, Advanced Manufacturing, Smart Manufacturing, Robotics, Green Energy, Biosensors, Logistics Management, Molecular Biology and Smart Health Care, as well as Mandarin Language Training or Cultural Experience Courses.

Internship + Chinese

The wide range of programs under TEEP provides students from all backgrounds opportunities to immerse themselves in the operations of key Taiwan companies and industries. Moreover, TEEP helps students find relevant and useful job placements at various companies. In these positions, students will gain firsthand knowledge that will put them well on their way in the business world. Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Lab was established on August 1, 2016, in Chemical Engineering Department, National Chung Hsing University. PSE Lab’s research programs are mostly on the analysis, modeling, simulation, optimization, design, control, and operation of process systems through artificial intelligence and machine learning as the leveraging tools. The research applications are very broad including chemical, petrochemical, electrochemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, and biomedical systems. Length scales to be covered are from the molecular to the nano- and micro-scales to very large-scale production facilities and even complete supply chains.

We are looking for a responsible, motivated person who has interests in Process Systems Engineering. Programming skills, especially in MATLAB and GAMS programming languages, are preferred. We will meet with the intern upon arrival for project discussion and describe the details as well as the intern’s learning expectation. We will make sure that the student is well supported and ensure that the internship outcomes will be met accordingly. The intern will gain excellent technical training in a resourceful laboratory and university. Moreover, the intern will have the opportunity to have industrial exposure with Oriental Union Chemical Corporation (OUCC) and directly immersed in Taiwan chemical industries. A lot of unique opportunities to engage in scientific discussions with Taiwanese students can be expected. Taiwan is a country with beautiful weather, friendly people and delicious food, so you can expect a lot of fun events with labmates.
