University of Malaya (UM) Malaysia would like to inform you that the registration for semester exchange application for Spring 2025 (Semester 2, March 2025 Intake) is open.  The tuition fee for this program is waived. However, the accepted students are responsible for their learning materials, dormitory and living expenses in Malaysia including Roundtrip Flight Ticket, visa fees, facility fee & Insurance.

This program is open for active ITS Students Diploma/S1 (batch 2022) and also S2 who already completed 1 minimum semester.

Academic Calendar

Module Catalogue: Access the subjects currently offered for Semester 2 (March 2025) here , this is a live list where the list will be consistently updated based on the latest decision and availability of the modules. (Please refer to Semester 2| Spring)

ITS Students are allowed to register modules (Please only refer to modules in semester 1) up to a maximum of 20 credits (maximum 6-7 modules) per semester. However, ITS students is mandatory to take and transfer minimum 20 SKS (except for postgraduate students, you may took and transfer minimum 6 SKS). Students are allowed to add and drop modules during the registration week. Therefore students are advised to be prepared with alternative module options.

Notes

  1. Undergraduate students are not eligible to take postgraduate modules, but Postgraduate students are allowed to take both undergraduate and postgraduate modules. 
  2. It is mandatory for students to register a minimum of 6 credits (2 modules) and up to a maximum of 20 credits (6-7 modules).

Fees: 

Administration Fee:

  • Fee amount is MYR 630.00 (approx. USD 150) per semester
  • Administration fee is a mandatory fee for all students who apply for the mobility program.

Kindly note that students will only be required to make payment on the above-mentioned upon arrival to UM. There will be no application fee incure during the application.

 It is compulsory for student to purchase the local insurance coverage policy from the EMGS’s appointed panel for the endorsement of student pass

Student Visa Information

The offer of admission to the UM mobility program DOES NOT come with the Student Visa which is strictly required by the Malaysian Immigration Department (MID) for students to enter and study in Malaysia. Application of Visa Approval Letter (VAL) and payment of related immigration charges can be done via the EMGS website at http://educationmalaysia.gov.my. Failure to adhere to the visa application procedures may result in the delay of admission to the University or retraction of admission. Processing time for the visa takes about eight (8) weeks upon submission of complete document.

Here are the required documents that you need to prepare :

  1. CV
  2. Certificate of Enrollment
  3. An Official Academic Transcript in English version (GPA min 3.0)
  4. One recommendation letter from an academic advisor
  5. Confirmation letter, please fill out this confirmation letter with your personal information needed, please download the Confirmation Letter here.
  6. Photocopy of the applicant’s passport information page (at least valid until one year prior to the start of the program)
  7. The latest certificate of English Proficiency Test Score (original). TOEFL/IELTS/IBT  (You can use TEFL/EFL minimum 477). However, you need to submit minimum TOEFL PBT 550 / TOEFL ITP 627/ IELTS 6/ TOEFL CBT 213/ TOEIC 693  if you apply at Faculty Business & Accountancy and Faculty of Law.  Please kindly note that screenshot score from web UPT Bahasa and TOEFL prediction are not acceptable. 
  8. Learning Agreement (please download from here http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange  ) Please only submit with your department coordinator (Head of Dept) signed only. You don’t need to get signed at Institutional Coordinator and please leave blank for that section.
  9.  Statement Letter (please download from here http://bit.ly/its-student-exchange )
  10. Passport Photo with blue background
  11. Passport-size Photograph [3.5cm (w) x 4.5cm(h), White Background]
  12. ITS Students must consult with their parents for the financial aspects and please kindly provide the statement letter from your parents (in Bahasa) that your parents are support you (all financial & mental) to join this program. (No format required)
  13. Certificate of GCW Non Degree (minimum C), GCW IUP, or Result Test GCW Non Degree min 80 (S2 Applicants can replace it with R2SEP certificate)

Incomplete requirements will not processed by Mobility Team.

All of your documents must be in PDF and collected in 1 (one) .zip/.rar file. If you have finished and submitted your Study Abroad Application form, YOU HAVE TO SEND email to studyabroad@its.ac.id confirming that you have filled out the Study Abroad Application Form and submit it. Please use this subject: “Confirmation Study Abroad Application_ExchangeUM_NAME_NRP”. The submission deadline is 4 November 2023 ( 09.00 WIB). The Interview Session will be held on 6 November 2023 (13.30).
