Global Project Based Learning (GPBL) 2024 at SIT Japan

Dear ITS Students,

Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) Japan are proudly presents “Global Project Based Learning (GPBL) 2024 at SIT Japan”. This program will be held on 10-19 December 2024.

Objective:

The objective is to develop problem-solving skills to obtain overall optimal solutions through Cross-cultural Engineering Project (CEP), an international and interdisciplinary project team exercise. The CEP is an exercise based on Global Project Based Learning and is conducted in three regions around the world. In Japan, CEP@SIT is conducted as an industry-university-community cooperative project with graduate students, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students from Southeast and East Asia and EU. Themes are set based on issues raised by companies and local communities. In order torealize the set theme, project teams analyze objectives, needs, and technologies, and conduct comprehensive problem solving from the definition of requirements by making full use of “systems thinking,” “systems methods,” and “systems management. The program of this exercise is consisted of (1) ice-breaking and team formation, (2) theme determination, requirements analysis, and goal setting, (3) evaluation plan and budget plan development, (4) Design Review (DR), (5) activities based on the plan, and (6) final presentation (FP)

Participants: Total 80 participants expected. 40 undergraduate and graduate students from SIT and 40 students from partner universities.

Schedule:

Accommodation: Participants are to find accommodation *reference list will be provided.(No need to reserve for Days 5-7. The field trip to Nasu is expected.)
*Participants are responsible for airfare, travel insurance, accommodation payment incl. Days 5-7, daily transportation, food, other personal expenses during the program.

Accommodation lists recommendation from SIT –>  Accommodation lists for GPBL 

SIT Japan & ITS International Office will select only 5 ITS Students who will join in this program. The selected students also will have a chances grants SIT scholarship about JPY 60.000 – JPY 80.000 (the amount and the selected receipient based on SIT decision). Please kindly note that the scholarship is not guarantee yet. the scholarship announcement will be announce prior to departure. 

This program eligible for ITS Students only with criteria below

– D4 & S1 batch 2021 & 2022 and S2 batch 2023 from any departments

– Have a good english (oral & written)

For ITS students who are interested to join this program, please prepare the documents below :

–  CV (please indicate your experience study/involving in project)

– A valid Copy of English Proficiency Certificate,  TOEFL/TEFL/EFL min 477  or you can use IELTS/IBT (equal with TOEFL score 477) and  duolingo test min 90

-Statement Letter (please download from this link bit.ly/its-short-program )
– Academic Transcipt with GPA minimum 3.3

– Scanned of Parents letter support (the letter must signed by your parents and the letter must mention about the awareness of your parents about this program. Please also mention that your parents support you for the financial and other things if you are accepted in this program)

– Scanned Passport (validity minimum 12 months from 1 December 2024)

– Motivation Letter maximum 2 pages (TNR 11,  A4, margin 3, 3, 3, 3)

Here’s the timeline for selection of this program :

– Deadline applications: 17 October 2024 (maximum on 11.00 WIB)

– Interview/Selection Process: 17 October 2024 (between 16.00 – 19.30 WIB)

– Final announcement: 18 October 2024
