Short Program for ITS Students

The College of Engineering at National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan, is pleased to invite one (1) ITS student to participate in the Summer Camp 2025, which will take place in Taichung, Taiwan, from July 30th to August 13th, 2025.

About the Program

The primary objective of the summer camp is to strengthen educational collaboration and student exchange between NCHU and its sister universities. Last year’s program gathered international students from the USA, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The program included Chinese culture courses and laboratory experience, allowing students to explore state-of-the-art engineering technologies in Taiwan and experience the beauty of this “treasure island.” During the two-week program, students will participate in directed study programs within selected research groups, culminating in a final presentation of their study outcomes.

Research Groups

Participants will join an independent study program in one of the following research groups:

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Chemical Engineering
Materials Science & Engineering
Precision Engineering
Biomedical Engineering

The College of Engineering will provide accommodations, partial food expenses, and tuition for selected students. More details on the summer camp curriculum can be found in the enclosed leaflet.

Scholarship Opportunity

NCHU will provide one (1) scholarship for a selected ITS student, covering the program fee, dormitory, and food expenses. However, the selected student must cover other costs, including round-trip airfare, visa, insurance, and personal expenses.

Eligibility

This program is open to ITS students who meet the following criteria:

D4 & S1 students from batch 2021 & 2022 (Regular students only; IUP students are not eligible).
S2 students from batch 2023 & 2024.

Required Documents

Interested ITS students must prepare and submit the following documents:

NCHU Summer Camp 2025 application form
Consent Letter
Official Academic Transcript (English version)
Valid English Proficiency Certificate (TOEFL/IELTS/IBT minimum score: 477; Duolingo minimum score: 85)
- EFL and screenshots from UPT Bahasa website are acceptable.
- TEFL from Dirpendik is not acceptable.
Scanned Passport (valid for at least one year beyond July 31, 2025)
Motivation Letter (max. 2 pages, TNR 12, margin 3-3-3-3) – clearly state the preferred research lab.

Incomplete or late applications will not be processed by the Study Abroad Team.

Application Procedure

Interested students must submit their applications through this form: https://its.id/studyabroadITS.

All documents must be compiled into one (1) .zip/.rar file.
After submission, students must send an email to studyabroad@its.ac.id with the subject: “Confirmation Study Abroad Application_NCHU_NAME_NRP”.
The submission deadline is March 19, 2025 (12:00 WIB).
The interview session will be held on March 21, 2025.
