Taiwan Tech, NTUST runs a volunteering summer program called NTUST x Project LET’S Go! applications open for volunteer teaching positions!
NTUST x Project LET’S Go! is an international service learning and a non-profit organization that strives to innovate and refine the way that children in Taiwan learn the English language, as well as develop critical thinking skills. We work with schools in rural areas of Taiwan, that has few educational resources, and one of our main strategies is to motivate children to learn through extracurricular summer programs.
Our summer program was started in 2010 with just one small school and has since grown to serve more than 7 communities and nearly 300 deserving schoolchildren. Every year, we look for passionate college students from all over the world interested in traveling, teaching, and helping kids realize their full potential to join our volunteer team. We value special qualities and unique experiences that every individual brings to the team. By joining our team, volunteers are signing up for an incredible opportunity allowing them to exchange cultures, give back to local communities, and make lifelong friends and global connections.
2020 Summer Program held in two program sessions, Ocean Session and East Session. The Ocean session started from 29 June 2020 and East session started from 27 July 2020. The duration of this program is 3-7 week. The destination of this program are Dongao Elementary School, Chishang Junior High School, Dulan Elementary School, and Xiaolin Elementary School.
By joining this program you got an opportunity to authentically engage and volunteer with one or more of our 4 partner schools in Taiwan. Through our special “summer camps,” our volunteer teachers promote arts, music, science and critical thinking through English language immersion for elementary and middle school students. Every international volunteer teacher is paired with 2-3 Taiwanese volunteer teachers as their partners for support and translation (if needed), which builds incredible friendships and networks.
Accepted applicants will be responsible for covering the cost of their international airfare and a small program fee. The program fee includes in-country, in-session transportation, accommodation, insurance, meals, orientation materials, and authentic cultural excursions (when applicable).
Volunteer teachers who stay for the full program (Session Ocean + East) will pay a USD $675 program fee; Volunteer teachers who stay for one session will pay a USD $375 program fee. 2020 summer programming also offers several program fee waivers to international applicants. You can see the details about the program fee waivers on the application form
