The Global Technology Initiative (GTI) consortium was launched on Dec 3, 2015, with Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) acting as the founder with universities and private companies in Japan and South-East Asia as members. GTI (Global Technology Initiative) Consortium has been established in order to enhance the industry-academia-government collaboration in Japan and Southeast Asia. The consortium has more than 120 members that will tackle the social problems like environmental issues and disaster prevention in Southeast Asia. GTI consortium will also work on the improvement of educational quality, fostering global human resources, driving innovations and enhancing industry competitiveness by solving such social issues.
1.Global Project Based Learning (GPBL)
– GPBL Cross-cultural Engineering Program (CEP) at Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) Japan (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019). The participants in this program are students from SIT partners from all over the world
– GPBL interdiciplinary field at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Thailand (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019). The participants in this program are students from SIT Japan, ITS Indonesia and several KMUTT partner at Cambodia / Malaysia
– GPBL computer science at Hanyang University Erica Campus, South Korea (2019). The participants in this program are students from SIT Japan & ITS Indonesia
-GPBL computer science at SIT Japan (2020). The participants in this program are students from SIT Japan, ITS Indonesia, Hanyang University Erica Campus South Korea and Post & Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) Vietnam with Co-Well Company as the co-host of the program.
-GPBL Design at KMUTT Thailand (2020). The participants in this program are students from SIT Japan, KMUTT Thailand, Ming Chuan University (MCU Taiwan, Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology (UNIST) South Korea & ITS Indonesia
2.Consortium Symposium
ITS also joint the GTI Symposium in November 2018. The purpose of GTI symposium is to introduce the GTI consortium actvities to all members
