Global Competencies Program

Overview

ITS Global Engagement organizes a variety of programs aimed at preparing ITS students for their enriching study abroad experiences. Two notable programs within this initiative are the Global Competencies Workshop (GCW) and the Global Competencies Workshop – IUP (GCW-IUP). Each of these programs offers unique and distinct experiences tailored to equip students with essential skills and insights necessary for their international academic pursuits. This workshop is compulsory for those who want to apply for study abroad opportunities provided by ITS GE – such as IISMA, Student Exchange, Short Program, or Lab. Internship – and is also beneficial for those pursuing joint/double degree programs.

Starting from making a CV, I gained knowledge about the structure and content of a good CV, then making a motivation letter, I became more aware of how to make a motivation letter that was able to convince recruiters to accept me in an internationalization program, and from an English interview simulation, I know what my strengths and weaknesses are when conducting interviews and how to answer questions from interviewers well. Global Competencies Workshop

About GCW

Global Competencies Workshop (GCW) is a workshop organized by ITS Global Engagement with the aim of preparing ITS students before participating in internationalization activities such as study excursions, student exchanges, short programs, and lab internships. This workshop includes presentations on the various stages of international mobility program selection, document preparations such as CV and Motivation Letter, interview simulation, sharing sessions with a study abroad alumni, and materials about English Proficiency Tests. This program is open for all ITS Students (Vocation, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral Degree).

Timeline

Duration:

GCW Non Degree: 2-3 days, 3-5 hours per meeting
GCW Test: 1 day, 1-2 hours per test

Global Competencies Workshop IUP (GCW-IUP)

About GCW IUP (only for IUP students)

Global Competencies Workshop (GCW) IUP is a series of workshops with the primary purpose to help International Undergraduate Program (IUP) students to get to know the mechanism of joining the study abroad programs from ITS Global Engagement, such as study excursion, short program, student exchange, and lab internship. International Undergraduate Program (IUP) Students are required to have international exposure during their study. Therefore, Global Competencies Workshop as one of the requirements for going abroad has become an obligation for IUP Students. Apart from being obligatory, GCW IUP Assessments aim to provide evaluation and also measure the understanding of IUP Students about the whole mechanism of joining the study abroad program from ITS Global Engagement with the result that IUP Students have already well-prepared before going abroad.
