Brief overview

JWGEA is a consortium where members collaborate together and participate in a joint workshop for Global Engineers in Asia. Its objectives are as follows:

• Support the  development  of  communication, planning,  leadership,  and  cross-cultural skills through joint implementation of students from a variety of linguistic, cultural, and research backgrounds
• Improve understanding and recognition of differentculture and English ability of the students
• Promote networking and research exchange among the faculties, researchers and students of each university members.

• Ritsumeikan University (RU), Japan
• Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia
• King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand
• Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University (ETU), Russia

Scope

A forum where young researchers in various fields of Engineering from 5 university members are expected to build a mutual research collaboration that could positively contribute to the reinforcement of the inter-institution partnership.

Quota & Funding

For JWGEA 2024, ITS is given offers for 10 slots for students to get scholarships that include:

• program free (waived by KMUTT)
• accommodation (waived by KMUTT)

Other expenses as follows are self-funded:

• return tickets (funding support from ITS available)
• daily meals
• airport transport and in-city transport
• personal expenses

Note that ITS also provides support funding (reimbursement system) for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students. Find detailed guidance at this link:

Eligibilities

JWGEA is open for active ITS students, in any field, that are committed to participate actively in  the program dan having good English (oral and written):
-Final year undergraduate students (vocational programs are included)
-Master’s students
-Doctoral students

Requirements

Please submit these documents upon registration:

• Abstract (one page, see template)
• CV
• Brief motivation essay
• GCW/GCA/RSEP certificate
• Letter of recommendation from the Head of Department
• Proof of active student
• English certificate
• Scan of student ID card
• Scan of passport*
