In the context of implementing the potential for research collaboration between the Internet of Things Research Center and Defense Technology (IoTTP Research Center) of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and PT. Dirgantara Indonesia, we conducted a focus group discussion (FGD) focusing on potential research fields and opportunities for research collaboration in the field of defense. This focus group discussion was held on January 24, 2023.
The FGD session between the two agencies received a direct welcome from the VP of the Engineering and Weapon System Division, namely Eka Wahyono. On this occasion, Eka introduced several defense products, such as N19, N219 Amphibious, Puna/PPTA Male, CN235 FTB, and CN235 Commercial/N245 As for PT. Dirgantaa Indonesia, it is also developing weapons system products such as the Terpedo, Rocket Motor, Warhead, Rocket Launcher, and AKT.
On the same occasion, Deputy Head of the IoTTP Research Center, Dr. Widyastuti Si, M.Si., also provides exposure. In his presentation, this ITS lecturer explained several innovative works made by ITS. Innovations such as i-Car, i-Boat, Fin Komodo, i-Nose, and Istow, as well as defense products such as ANIDS Cyber Security, UAV Forensic, Crocodile Hydrofoil, Frangible Bullet, and SWATH Boat Flying. He also conveyed information related to defense products developed by ITS, such as solar harvesting technology, the MU150L CNC machine, AISITS, and the Prius Hybrid, as well as defense products such as ITS Armor (Armits) and Automorse. He also conveyed that the resources that ITS has are related to the expertise of the research team, for example in vibration tests for N-219 (civil) and CN 235 FTB (gunship) certification.
Through this FGD, both parties hope that this cooperation opportunity will be able to become the key technology for the next national program, such as the development of innovation in the field of defense and security.
