Interactive atmosphere during the ITS DTI Lab Meeting for Collaboration Mapping discussion session with Rocel Audrey J. Batara from Saint Mary University
Surabaya, IT Journalistic — Room 701 Tower 2 of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) witnessed the spirit of global collaboration during a Lab Meeting titled “Collaboration Mapping” on Wednesday (5/3). The event, attended by Rocel Audrey J. Batara from Saint Mary University and lecturers from the Department of Information Technology (DTI) ITS, aimed to discuss various academic cooperation opportunities, including student exchanges, joint research, and collaborations in international workshops and seminars.
Annisa Sri Indrawanti, S. Kom., M. Kom., a DTI lecturer who attended the discussion, stated, “In this lab meeting, we are trying to establish cooperation such as student exchange to facilitate broader knowledge transfer.” The discussion did not only focus on student exchanges but also covered opportunities for joint research in information technology, particularly in human-computer interaction (HCI), cybersecurity, and digital forensics. These fields are highly relevant for lecturers and students currently specializing in information technology.
Rocel Audrey J. Batara’s presentation style also received positive appreciation from the lecturers. “It was quite friendly, the delivery was pleasant, very easy to understand, and implementable. For example, during the photography workshop, she not only presented theory but also conducted direct practice with her students,” said Annisa.

The Lab Meeting concluded with high enthusiasm from the lecturers. “Cool!” exclaimed Annisa, summarizing the positive impression of the event. The dynamic discussion further emphasized that academic collaboration is beneficial not only for institutions but also for students and lecturers in enhancing competencies and broadening international perspectives. The Department of Information Technology ITS is committed to realizing this collaboration plan, including aligning curriculum with partner universities and expanding international research networks.
