History of the Chemistry Department

The F. SCIENTICS Chemistry Department of ITS currently manages two study programs namely the Chemical Bachelor Program (S1) and the Chemical Postgraduate Program (S2 / S3).
1970-1980 The Bachelor of Chemistry program was established based on the desires and needs of ITS for Chemistry education as outlined in the ITS Development Master Plan (RIP-ITS).
1983/1984 The ITS Bachelor of Chemistry program began in the 1983/1984 school year and was officially operated in 1983, precisely in September 1983 along with structuring the organizational structure in the ITS environment in accordance with PP No. 5 of 1980.
1986-1993 The Department of Chemistry has also dedicated the knowledge possessed by its human resources in helping to prepare high-quality Chemistry teachers for high schools in Eastern Indonesia (in particular) as many as 196 intermediate experts (Diploma III).
2004 In 2004 the ITS Post-Graduate Masters in Chemistry (S2) program was established. In almost three decades since it was first established, the FIA Chemical Department of ITS has always improved itself and managed to get the Technological and Professional Skills Development Project (TPSDP) Batch III block grant amounting to 687,071 US dollars for the 2004-2007 period.
2007 Undergraduate programs in the FIA ITS Chemistry Department get an A from the National Accreditation Board (BAN) in accordance with certificate No. 001 / BAN-PT / Ak-X / S1 / I / 2007 dated January 13, 2007.
2009 In 2009 the Post-Graduate ITS Chemical Doctorate (S3) program was established.
2016 In 2016 the ITS Chemistry Master Program (S2) received A. accreditation.
