His research interests are to develop zeolites and mesoporous materials from rice husk, fly ash, kaolin, and red mud for various applications, including fine chemical synthesis, fragrance, and biodiesel. One of his noticeable works is the biodiesel from Kemiri Sunan oil. Recently, he also works in the natural polymer, specifically converting pepper waste from pepper plantations into crystalline cellulose. Prof. Didik authored publications in various reputable and high-impact journals, such as the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Sustainable Environmental Research, Material Chemistry and Physics, Scientific Reports, Catalysis Letter, etc. Additionally, he also actively involved a reviewer for various reputable journals, such as Electrochimica Acta, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Journal of Clean Energy, Material Letters, etc.
