M. Luthfi Sandi Pradana Wins 1st Place in MAGE X IoT Competition, Earns Freepass to ITS

M. Luthfi Sandi Pradana, a student from SMK Pawyatan Daha 1 Kota Kediri, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing 1st place in the MAGE X Internet of Things (IoT) category, an event organized by the Department of Computer Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). As a reward for this outstanding accomplishment, he has been granted a freepass admission to the Computer Engineering Department at ITS.
His journey to victory began in May 2024, when he joined an internship at his school’s robotics lab. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, Luthfi developed an IoT-based herbal drink dispenser, aiming to elevate the image of traditional herbal medicine through modern technology.
The road to success was filled with challenges. The team faced rejections from herbal drink vendors, technical setbacks such as burnt cables, short-circuited microcontrollers, and difficulties in calibration and web integration. Even on the eve of their departure to ITS, they were still working late into the night to resolve several technical issues.
Despite these obstacles, their hard work and perseverance paid off when they were crowned champions. This achievement serves as proof that challenges are not barriers to success. Passion, resilience, and consistency in overcoming difficulties were the key factors behind their triumph.
