The Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (F-ELECTICS) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has once again demonstrated its contribution to the field of technology through one of its students, Mochamad Rafli Ghufron, from the 2021 Information Systems program. Ghufron and his team successfully developed LolosASN, an edutech-based application designed to help Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) prepare more effectively and efficiently through AI-powered analytical features.
LolosASN was created as a solution for CPNS test participants who often face time constraints in studying the material. In addition to providing tryout simulations, the app is equipped with AI analysis features capable of identifying users’ specific weaknesses, enabling more focused and efficient learning.
The inspiration for this application came from observing the 3.9 million CPNS test participants in 2024, most of whom relied on tryouts as their primary learning method but needed a more efficient approach. With its AI analysis feature, LolosASN offers a personalized and measurable learning experience, making it superior to similar applications.
This project gained significant support after securing funding of IDR 140 million through the Bangkit 2024 program, an Independent Study initiative supported by Google and the Ministry of Education and Culture. Ghufron, who followed the Machine Learning Path in Bangkit, chose the Entrepreneur Track for his final project. After a rigorous selection process, LolosASN was ranked among the top five Entrepreneur Track projects due to its innovative idea and project sustainability potential.
“I was surprised and delighted when we received the funding. This is the result of our team’s hard work and mission to help CPNS aspirants,” said Ghufron. The funding is being used for application development, operations, and marketing. Currently, the team is focused on refining the application to make it more effective while expanding its user reach through marketing strategies.

The main challenge faced by the team was maintaining cohesion among members from diverse backgrounds with varying responsibilities. Additionally, challenges in management and marketing were key concerns throughout the application development process. Nevertheless, the experience has provided valuable lessons about the work culture in tech projects, which require high dedication, consistency, and good management.
Looking ahead, LolosASN aims to reach more users across Indonesia and become a trusted platform for CPNS preparation. The application also plans to expand its services to support preparation for other exams, such as state academy admissions and UTBK. “We want to remain relevant with the times and help society without burdening them with high costs,” Ghufron stated.
For ITS students interested in developing similar applications or technological innovations, Ghufron advises maintaining strong commitment and assembling the right team. “The courage to innovate must be accompanied by consistency, commitment, and relevance to changes. Don’t forget, capital and dedication are the keys to bringing our innovation to a larger scale,” he concluded.
