Program Studi Doktor Matematika (PSDM) ITS menitikberatkan pada pengembangan matematika terapan yang didukung oleh kemampuan analisis dan aljabar serta komputasi yang kuat. Hal ini didasarkan pada sumber daya manusia (6 Profesor dan 15 Doktor) yang kompeten dalam bidang Matematika Terapan yang ditunjukkan dari rekam jejak penelitian maupun publikasi dari dosen Matematika ITS. Beberapa bidang penelitian bidang minat antara lain komputasi dinamika fluida, kontrol dan estimasi optimum, aljabar max-plus, matematika biologi, asimilasi data, bioinformatika, dan analisis citra/video.

Mission of Education

  1. Organizing doctoral education in mathematics to produce graduates of international quality and mastering concepts in the fields of analysis, algebra, and computing and their application.
  2. To produce a doctor of mathematics who is faithful and devoted to God Almighty

  1. Take an active role in the development of mathematics and its application through research activities and publications of international quality, especially in the fields of algebra, analysis, modeling and computing.
  2. To produce a doctor of mathematics who is able to carry out continuous research

Empower departmental resources to play an active role in solving problems faced by society, industry, and government by integrating analysis, algebra, modeling and computing.

Mission of Management

  1. Develop networks and synergize with domestic and foreign universities, industry, society, and government in the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education in the field of mathematics and its applications.
  2. Improving the competence of lecturers and education staff to be more creative and professional in carrying out their duties

Program Educational Objectives

  • To produce graduates who can have careers as academics and researchers who can use their knowledge, skills and experience to solve real problems when carrying out their professional practice.
  • Individuals who are able to develop research networks related to the application of mathematics to real life problems, especially in the fields of industry, energy, marine, finance and information technology, as well as produce new works based on local wisdom.
  • Individuals who are able to develop a career, can work individually and in a team, have a leadership and managerial spirit.

Kurikulum

Pada kurikulum tahun 2023, beban studi mahasiswa program magister ditetapkan sebanyak 42 SKS yang dijadwalkan untuk 6 (enam) semester dan paling lama 14 (empat belas) semester termasuk penyelesaian disertasi (Peraturan Akademik ITS 2023). Program Studi Doktor Matematika memiliki tiga bidang minat yaitu Analisis dan Aljabar Terapan, Matematika Terapan dan Industri, serta Sains Data dan Komputasi. Dalam tabel berikut disajikan struktur kurikulum berdasarkan beban studi pada jenis mata kuliah

Jalur Riset

Program doktor jalur riset adalah program yang diselenggarakan untuk memfasilitasi pendidikan Doktor dengan proses pembelajaran berbasis Riset. Program doktor jalur riset ditempuh dalam jangka waktu 3 (tiga) tahun dengan beban studi 42 sks, meliputi 6 sks mata kuliah, penelitian, dan publikasi disertasi. Mata Kuliah yang diambil adalah Mata Kuliah yang menunjang penelitian disertasi.

Rekognisi Pembelajaran Lampau yang selanjutnya disingkat RPL adalah pengakuan atas Capaian Pembelajaran seseorang yang diperoleh dari pendidikan formal atau nonformal atau informal, dan/atau pengalaman kerja ke dalam pendidikan formal. Mata Kuliah RPL pada Jalur Riset sama dengan Mata Kuliah pada Jalur Reguler.
