We are pleased to announce the annual Global Project-based Learning (GPbL) Program in Mathematics, a collaboration between the Department of Mathematics at ITS and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at SIT. 🥳🥳🥳
The program will be hosted by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Shibaura Institute of Technology, Japan, from March 1–11, 2025, with the theme of Applied Optimization. Registration is open until November 30, 2024: https://its.id/GPbLinMath2025-RegistrationForm
To join this program, you must meet the following requirements: 1. Be an active student in the Department of Mathematics at ITS. 2. Have not previously participated in any onsite (outbound) GPbL organized by the Department of Mathematics at ITS. 3. Possess knowledge of and interest in mathematical applications. 4. Be highly motivated, committed, and disciplined.
To apply, please complete the registration form and submit the following documents: 1. Transcript in English (AY 2023–2024 only). 2. Language certificate (English and/or Japanese, if available) – not compulsory but preferred. 3. Scan of a valid passport or e-passport. 4. CGW certification (preferred). 5. CV with a photo, including a list of international mobility programs you have participated in (free format in English). 6. Motivation letter in English (free format). 7. Scanned copy of the parents’ support letter, signed by your parents, indicating their awareness and support of your participation in the program, including financial and other aspects (free format in English).
During the program, you will enhance your understanding of applied optimization by attending lectures from Professor Zhai (SIT) and Professor Subchan (ITS). You will then apply this knowledge to solve two mini-projects.
You will also experience: – Collaborating with Japanese students. – Staying in Japan during springtime. – Immersing yourself in a new culture. And much more!
All participants will receive a JASSO Scholarship of 60,000–80,000 JPY, depending on GPA, which will be disbursed on the first day of the program. Only 16 students will be selected to participate in this program.
Please note that all flight fares and accommodation costs are your own responsibility, so make sure to discuss the financial aspects with your parents. Additionally, ITS GE will not provide any additional scholarships due to JASSO regulations. This should be mentioned in the parents’ support letter.
