Final Project Guidelines

Final Project Description

Final project is a graduation requirement for ITS Business Management students, courses equivalent to 6 credits must be taken by each student as a condition for completing a Bachelor’s degree and earning a Bachelor’s degree. Final project has a goal so that students are able to explain, analyze, and apply all knowledge and educational experience based on basic subjects and electives in the area of ​​expertise they are interested in. Therefore, it is hoped that final project can be used as a means of expressing student creativity to design, plan, evaluate, improve, innovate, as well as provide solutions to real problems (problem solving) found in the object of study relating to aspects of business management.

General Requirements

Every student who will submit a thesis must meet the following administrative and academic requirements:

  • Active registered as a student of the ITS Business Management Department;
  • Include or take a Final Project course at semester study plan;
  • Having completed or passed a minimum of 120 SKS courses, including at least 2 (two) elective courses;
  • Has taken and passed a Research Methodology course for Business and Seminar Courses in the chosen field of concentration.

Registration Stage:
  • Consultation with potential supervisors.
  • Obtain approval from potential supervisors to confirm them as supervisors for final project.
  • Reviewing transcripts to ensure the successful completion of all courses. If any courses are not passed, please communicate with the academic staff at department of Business Management.
  • Complete the registration for the final assignment here.
Proposal Defence :​
  • Prepare a final project proposal in collaboration with the supervisor by adhering to the ITS Final Project Template.
  • Conduct a minimum of 6 counseling sessions with supervisor
  • Complete and submit Form C for the Final Project to the academic staff.
  • Get ITS EFL score of at least 477 or take the ITS EFL test at least once between the beginning of the semester and before proposal defence.
  • Prepare necessary files, including proposal documents and presentation materials.
  • The proposal defence, conducted through an offline session.
  • Students are required to wear formal attire, with men wearing a suit or blazer accompanied by a tie.
  • The outcome of the proposal defence are the acceptance or rejection status of the final project proposal.
  • Any revisions to the proposal must be submitted within a maximum of one week after the proposal defence.
Progress (only for Enterpreneurship based):​
  • Prepare a final project Report in collaboration with the supervisor by adhering to the ITS Final Project Template.
  • Conduct a minimum of 9 counseling sessions with supervisor
  • Complete and submit Form D for the Final Project to the academic staff.
  • Get ITS EFL score of at least 477 or take the ITS EFL test at least once between the beginning of the semester and before proposal defence.
  • Prepare necessary files, including progress report documents and presentation materials.
  • The proposal examination, conducted through an offline session.
  • Students are required to wear formal attire, with men wearing a suit or blazer accompanied by a tie.
  • The outcome of the progress report are the acceptance or rejection status to continue to the final defence.
  • Any revisions to the progress report must be submitted within a maximum of one week after the progress report defence.
Final Defence :​
  • ​Prepare the final project document in collaboration with the supervisor by adhering to the ITS Final Project Template.
  • Conduct a minimum of 12 counseling sessions with supervisor.
  • Complete Form D for the Final Project and submit it to the academic staff.
  • Get an ITS EFL score of at least 477.
  • Prepare files consisting final project documents and presentation materials.
  • The final defense will be conducted in a closed, offline forum, student dressed in formal attire or traditional clothing.
  • Students will present their final project to the examiner within a maximum of 15 minutes, followed by a question and answer session.
  • The results of each student’s final project along with the grades will be announced at the end of session
  • Submit revisions of final project documents within a maximum period of one week after the final defense.

 

Components of Final Project Evaluation (Research and Project Based) :

1. Proposal Defence (10 %) – The evaluation is conducted solely by the examiners.
2. Score from Supervisor (30 %) – Assessments are exclusively provided by supervisors. The values are assigned during the final defence.
3. Final Defence (60 %) – The evaluation is carried out by examiners.

Components of Final Project Evaluation (Entrepreneurship Based):

1. Proposal Defence (10 %) – The evaluation is conducted solely by the examiners.
2. Score from Supervisor (30 %) – Assessments are exclusively provided by supervisors. The values are assigned during the final defense.
3. Progress (30 %) – The evaluation is carried out by examiners.
4. Final Defence (30 %) – The evaluation is carried out by examiners.
