ITS Campus, ITS News – A series of international conferences entitled The 2nd International Conference on Management of Technology, Innovation, and Project (MOTIP02) was completed on Saturday (27/2). Held by the Department of Technology Management of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), this event is an academic-based activity for researchers, academics, and practitioners to spread their discoveries and ideas in the field of supply chain and technology management.
With the theme Technology, People, and Innovation in Supply Chain Towards Meaningful and Impactful Scholarly Research Articles, the Chief Executive of MOTIP02, Gita Widi Bhawika SST MMT, revealed that supply chain management is an interesting topic that will be very much needed in the industrial and project world.
She also explained that this event aims to bring together researchers in the field of operations and supply chain management, so that they can share research projects and contribute collectively. Not only intended for the general public, said Gita, MOTIP is also a form of ITS Technology Management Department support for postgraduate students to conduct international conferences. “As a postgraduate study program, we require students to conduct conferences at the international level,” she said.
Implementation of MOTIP02
In her opinion, MOTIP02 opens opportunities for students to present the results of the projects they have undertaken in their respective workplaces. “Nearly one hundred percent of our students also work or are involved in the industrial sector,” explained the lecturer and Head of the Technology and Business Innovation Laboratory of the ITS Technology Management Department.
Gita said, MOTIP02 is collaborating with the 10th International Conference on Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSCM) in the form of a joint conference. This, added Gita, required MOTIP02 participants to attend the conference held by OSCM on 14-15 December 2020 before presenting their findings and ideas at the MOTIP02 Conference on 27 February 2021.
Through the MOTIP02 event, Gita hopes that in the future this conference can be held offline. She said, MOTIP is a unique event because it is always held through online video conferences. “But most importantly, we can improve the quality of MOTIP by reaching a wider audience and increasing the level of publication,” concluded Gita.
