Technology Management Department (MMT) continues to provide the best service for its academic community. One of them is to reactivate the 3rd floor for library. Head of Technology Management Department, Prof. I Nyoman Pujawan accompanied by the Dean of FBMT ITS, Prof. Udisubakti opened the new MMT-ITS library which utilizes the former British Council office on Wednesday (20/2). The room, which previously looked worn and unused for 7 years, was transformed into a more spacious, cozy reading room and online journal access room equipped with wifi access.
The opening of the new library began with ribbon cutting by the Dean, Head of Department, and Head of ITS Library Edy Suprayitno, M.Hum, witnessed by the participants of this opening event, including managers, lecturer, alumni, students, and staffs of the Department of Technology Management.
In his speech, the Dean of FBMT appreciated the opening of this new reading room. His wishes during his tenure at MMT to utilize the vacant 3 rd floor was finally realized by current MMT management. According to him, many good changes have been made by MMT management. Head of Department appreciated FBMT which always supported the activities carried out by MMT.
In his speech, Edy expressed his hope for the MMT-ITS reading room. “I know that the previous MMT-ITS library (on the 2nd floor) is good, but by reopening the new one on the 3rd floor, it is even better. Hopefully, the changes of MMT-ITS library can improve its function as a learning center for the lectures as well as students at MMT “. Edy hoped that the library information system in each department in ITS will be integrated each other, according to the concept of IntegratedITS, which has been carried out by MMT-ITS Librarians, who also won 1st place at ITSProvement 2018 (annual innovative idea competition for ITS staff). The IntegratedITS concept allows the users to be able to borrow from each other the reference collections in any reading room in the ITS environment, as one solution to deal with the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
The event was ended by prayers and eat traditional dish, i.e. tumpeng together, while enjoying the new library ambiances. For the information, the academics of MMT-ITS are welcome to use and utilize library facilities as much as possible to support the need for reading literature. (aha/gwb)
