As one of the universities that is a reference in the field of technology, ITS is back with new innovations. In the 2023-2024 academic year, ITS is creating study programs with comprehensive and in-depth education designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field of software development. The new study program is Software Engineering (RPL), this study program is the development of the Informatics Engineering study program which is under the auspices of the Informatics Engineering Department, Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FT-EIC)
Head of the ITS Informatics Engineering Department Prof. Dr. Eng. Chastine Fatichah, S.Kom., M.Kom. Explaining that this study program will be under the auspices of the Informatics Engineering Department so that all lecture activities will utilize the facilities, infrastructure, facilities in the department. “Laboratories and lecturers who will support learning later are also the same as those that existed before in Informatics Engineering,” he said.
It was further explained that this study program would later focus on various aspects of software engineering, including design, development, testing, project management and maintenance of software, as well as the latest software development environment, namely DevOps Development. “Students are designed to be able to learn by collaborating on technical ideas with teams using technological adaptations and industry trends that are developing rapidly,” said Chastine.
The job prospects or graduate profiles that will be produced by this study program are Solution Architects, DevOps Developers, Mobile Apps Developers, Software Project Managers, Front-End and Back-End Developers, and Software Quality Assurance/ Quality Control.
Furthermore, the Head of the Informatics Engineering Department explained the technical aspects of admission and acceptance of new students for this new RPL Study Program. registration opens on July 3-9 2023, and later it will only be open in the second wave of independent selection, with a quota of 40 seats.
It is hoped that the opening of the Software Engineering study program will be relevant to the demands of the industry in the future, and will also be able to create capable human resources capable of supporting the next generation and innovators in the field of future technology.
