ITS Campus, ITS News – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) along with the Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The activity seeks to increase cooperation between the two institutions in the Meeting Room of ITS Rectorate building, Monday (23/9).
In the event, ITK Rector, Prof. Ir Budi Santosa Purwokartiko Ph.D. explained that the MoU had been carried out several times before. However, there are a few things that need to be added and need to re-established, considering that ITK is an institution guided by ITS that is stated in the Ministerial Decree.
According to Budi, the campus which was officially established in 2014 has a very good relationship with ITS. ITS has a big role and influence for ITK. It is because there are many officeholders, Educational Personnel (Tendik), and ITK lecturers that come from ITS. “Most of the ITK lecturers 80% are from here (ITS, red),” said Budi.
The Professor of the ITS Industrial Engineering Department also said other cooperations that have been established between ITS with ITK among others are the guest lectures, speaker exchanges, curriculum development, lecturer mobilization programs, and system and information technology management.
Meanwhile, the guidance that ITS has provided to ITK in the form of human resources assistance, infrastructure development, information system counseling such as online transcripts, and acceleration of publications.
After the MoU is established, Budi hopes that there will be more cooperation between ITK and ITS. “Hopefully, there will be more cooperation, such as student exchanges, student coaching, and research,” he explained.
Not only that, but the ITK Rector also expressed his hopes for ITS to continue working to expand the partnership with foreign universities to support its mission as World Class University. “Also hopefully it can increase the number of publications and international relations,” he concluded.
